Better than the photos

Was a bit nervous it might look plain in person but the cover and the dial actually look richer than the pictures. Opening the lid feels really satisfying and it has that proper old vintage feel. The chain is a nice length too. My mate keeps borrowing it to have a look.

Bigger than I thought

Didn't realise how substantial it would be until it was sitting in my hand. It fits in a jacket pocket without feeling tiny or lost and the face is really easy to read. When you close the cover it feels solid, not rattly at all. Really pleased with it.

Gift for my husband

Bought this for my husband for our anniversary and he was genuinely stunned when he opened it. It came in a nice box so it presented really well and I barely had to wrap it. He collects a few older bits and said this fits right in. So glad I went for it.

Feels really well made

The hinge on the cover is tight and the clasp on the chain holds firm, so nothing feels loose or flimsy, which was my main worry ordering online. I've been carrying it daily for a few weeks now and it still snaps shut cleanly every time. Solid little thing.

Turned up a bit late

Arrived a couple of days after the date they gave me, but the tracking was spot on the whole way so I always knew where it was. The watch itself is brilliant, keeps good time and hasn't drifted at all since I set it. They even popped in a little extra which was a nice touch.

People keep asking about it

Pulled it out at a dinner and three people leaned in to have a look, nobody expects a proper covered pocket watch these days. It has that early cinema Paris feel and looks elegant hanging from the chain. I've had more comments on this than anything else I own.

For the Last Romantic

Made for someone who keeps stories alive.

This is the watch for someone who knows that the most beautiful objects often come at the end of an era, not the start. It is the last great age of the pocket watch, in your hand.

The Detail

The details the camera frames.

Draw it from your pocket and the open dial turns under glass, the gold-tone case catching light like a frame on a screen. The chain has real weight; the analog is the whole point. It is the kind of object people ask to hold before they ask what it costs.

Why they chose EPOCH

★★★★★

Like wearing a year

“It feels like wearing a piece of the year it's named after. The era settles into the wrist, and that's what stays with you.”

The detail is the point

“I bought it for the build. The detail is what stays. The dial, the case, the small things you only catch the second time you look.”

A collection, not a watch

“I bought one. A month later I wanted another decade. They turned what was a single purchase into a collection. I wasn't planning to start one.”

Paris, 1895

The year cinema was born.

December 28th, 1895. The Lumière brothers held the first public film screening in the basement of the Grand Café in Paris. Ten minutes of moving image, and the world had a new way to remember itself. Marconi was working on wireless telegraphy in Italy. Oscar Wilde was at the height of his wit, six months from prison.

The pocket watch that closes the 19th-century chapter belongs to a person who walked between gaslight and the first flicker of the cinema.
