1947 New Look watch from Paris, France — EPOCH (side profile)
At the Atelier

Made for someone who reads the room before getting dressed.

Christian Dior debuted the New Look at 30 Avenue Montaigne in February 1947. a return to roundness, to optimism, to fabric that didn't have to be rationed. The 1947 is from that same drawing room. Never the headline, always the punctuation.

1947 New Look watch from Paris, France — EPOCH (case detail)
The Detail

The details a tailor remembers.

The yellow-gold tonneau curves where the 1930s tanks went sharp, rounder, warmer, made to catch evening light. On the wrist it reads like something inherited, the piece that makes a quiet outfit look considered.

Why they chose EPOCH

★★★★★

Like wearing a year

“It feels like wearing a piece of the year it's named after. The era settles into the wrist, and that's what stays with you.”

The detail is the point

“I bought it for the build. The detail is what stays. The dial, the case, the small things you only catch the second time you look.”

A collection, not a watch

“I bought one. A month later I wanted another decade. They turned what was a single purchase into a collection. I wasn't planning to start one.”

Paris, 1947

The year Christian Dior changed the silhouette.

Christian Dior unveiled the New Look at 30 Avenue Montaigne in February 1947. After six years of rationing, women wore full skirts again. Chuck Yeager would break the sound barrier in October. India became a republic. Anne Frank's diary was published that summer, in Dutch.

This watch belongs to the years that followed the war. The optimism of a decade that had every reason not to feel optimistic, and chose to anyway.
